Case Mod001

James Wilson and I share one important thing, love for the tangible form and intangible reach of the computer. This installation is a product of our shared habitation in, and analysis of the architecture and spatial needs of the Sculpture Studio at DAAP. We sought out to create a computer that was not only disguised, but overly structurally reinforced. Half inch thick steel rod was welded into 9 separate cages that would protect the delicate parts from a harsh workshop environment. All materials were coated with high gloss car sealant, and fresh air was forced through the system by means of a filtered impeller. The final unit was cobbled together from recycled and found materials, and served as an invaluable server and presentation device for the sculpture students.

Footage Vulture: Live

Shots of a show with DJ Sharam of Deep Dish. I did a 7 hour set of live video that was spread across 4 giant projectors in club Vanguard, Los Angeles. The Boss, VIP's, and gogo dancers all said it was super duper fun. I agree.

Footage Vulture: Mixdown

This is a recorded video performance from a seriously foggy house party in 2008. Tunes by Sebastian.

Rapid Transit Visualization

In 2006, Cincinnati was voting to fund a Rapid Transit Bus System that would decrease highway congestion and give suburbanites a desirable alternative to their daily commute. This visualization illustrates that these terminals are not only a welcoming place for community gatherings, but a a place where riders can enjoy abundant natural light while reading the morning press. Color coded led light bands can alert riders to arriving buses while the high-tech RFID reading video walls provide detailed information about their route and points of interest nearby. This project was prototyped in association with Matt Beharry.
